Imagine this: you’re sitting in your seat patiently waiting for your plane to land and just after the wheels touch the tarmac a woman jumps from her seat, opens the emergency door and hops on out like it’s no big deal.
Sounds like a movie right?
Well that’s exactly what happened on a United Airlines flight from Houston to New Orleans. Just as the plane landed and was travelling down the runway towards the gate at the George Bush International Airport, a woman leapt from the exit door.

I’ve been on planes and I know people get nervous with landings and takeoffs but I could never imagine seeing what passenger Hampton Friedman saw that Monday afternoon as he sat across the aisle.
“I realized when the door popped open and the woman stepped out of it” Friedman told CNN.
The jump was about 15 feet high. The woman in question was never identified, and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. She’s undergoing psychological tests and will not be charged.
“I’ve flown all over the world, and I’ve been on lots of really long flights, and I’ve never experienced anything like this, I have no earthly idea why she would want to do that.” Cathy Cole, another passenger, told KHOU.
Cole also posted about the incident along with several images on her Facebook. Below you can see the police searching the aircraft cabin after the woman took off to ensure she didn’t leave anything behind to harm the other passengers.
