Sh*t My Partner Said In Their Sleep

Sleep talking, or “somniloquy,” is considered a disorder amongst adults. According to sleep.org, it’s more common in men and children, and while children tend to grow out of it, about 5% of adults remain sleep talkers. It isn’t considered serious itself, but it is linked to other issues. Factors such as stress, drugs, alcohol, sleep deprivation, anxiety, depression, or fever can cause a person to start chit-chatting while they doze.

While most of us have likely been told by a bed pal at one point or another that we’ve made some brief, incoherent utterances in our sleep—a moan, a grumble, a slur, maybe a laugh or two, some people go beyond that. Some people have full-blown, ridiculously funny conversations with themselves that would have you going “wtf did you just say?” But sleep talking doesn’t come from the conscious mind, so don’t give too much credence to what comes out of their mouth. It’s mostly gibberish.

Check out these posts on Twitter and Reddit from people who were in stitches over the funny sh*t their significant other said while snoozing.
