Watch as the York Regional Police read mean Tweets in this new video posted by CTV News.
They have been known to get a little cheeky on their Twitter account, such as this New Year’s Eve when they released a mock receipt for their made-up hotel outlining the cost for driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The poster read:
“As a member of the impaired drivers club of Ontario, you have been granted a suite at L’Hotel de York Regional Police for a no-expenses-paid night of bottom-level luxury and windowless wonder. While this truly breathtaking world of steel and concrete may at first overwhelm you, know this: you deserve it.”

“L’Hotel” is mentioned unfavourably in the mean Tweets.
It comes as no surprise that cops would be on the receiving end of such Tweets, especially given the recent air of mistrust towards them. However, they are quick to point out that in spite of the few mean Tweets they receive, the good ones far outweigh the bad.
And these Tweets aren’t just bad in the sense that they’re mean; they’re also bad in the sense that they are so grammatically incorrect it’s shameful. Kinda takes the bite out of their bark when they can’t speak properly, ammiright?
Watch for yourself.
